Featuring the U.S. Postal Service’s first new Happy Birthday design in more than a decade, this stamp adds an extra touch of color and good cheer to envelopes, cards, and invitations. It originally went on sale September 9, 2021, at Post Office locations nationwide and through the online Postal Store. Birthdays have long been tied to well-wishes and small rituals that bring people together—candles, cake, songs, and wishes that connect us to loved ones and invite everyone to share in the fun. USPS has issued several birthday-themed stamps over the years, and this newer design continues that tradition with a bright, party-inspired look. The word “HAPPY” appears prominently in capital letters, with each letter inspired by a different party decoration: a red-and-green piñata, an orange-and-yellow striped birthday hat, a red piece of frosted cake, a green birthday candle, and an orange balloon sculpture. The word “BIRTHDAY” appears below in blue, surrounded by a flurry of multicolored ribbons and confetti, with “Forever” and “USA” centered at the bottom.
